I thought it would be a good idea to write down every choking/gasping for air episode, so that I have a reference of events to re-count at his doctor visits. Here it goes:
January 2014
on the 22nd - choking on spit-up, spit up coming out of nose - this happened twice in a row (I helped him recover by sitting him up) on the 24th - choking on spit-up, gasping for air (I helped him recover by sitting him up) on the 28th - he woke up gasping for air two times in a row fairly close together (recovered on his own) on the 30th - we were sleeping for an hour after feeding when he woke up choking on saliva and gasping for air (recovered on his own)
February 2014
on the 5th - while crying he choked on spit-up (I helped him recover by picking him up) on the 14th - while crying he choked on spit-up (I helped him recover by picking him up) on the 16th - sitting upright in my lap he choked on spit-up twice in a row, this time no stridor (I helped him recover by putting him on my shoulder and patting his back)
March 2014
no episodes were recorded - Praise God stridor was not heard
April 2014
stridor making a comeback but very quiet on the 9th - while introducing stage one applesauce; he choked and gagged with the tiniest bit on the spoon, then dry heaved three times (no more solids have been introduced) on the 30th - woke up arching back and gasping for air (I gave him his reflux meds and sat him up)
May 2014
on the 1st - ate too much and was choking on spit-up without the stridor (dad helped him recover by putting him on his shoulder and patting his back)
